This project is a conceptual redesign of George Orwell’s novels, created under strict self-imposed limitations: using only typography, working exclusively in grayscale, and allowing one accidental color. These constraints were meant to test how far expression and meaning can be pushed through typographic form alone, without relying on imagery or illustration. Through the distortion of typograpy, the covers visualize the recurring themes of control, censorship, and fragmentation of truth present in Orwell’s writing. The restrained color palette emphasizes the oppressive atmosphere of his worlds, while the single red dot serves as a recurring symbol of danger, shifting its position from book to book to reflect how threat and resistance emerge from different places in each story.
